Founders Day Minnesota welcomes everyone, regardless of how long you've been in recovery. Whether this is your first meeting or your thousandth, you'll find a warm, supportive community here. We believe that newcomers bring fresh energy and hope to our fellowship.

8:30 AM - 12:00 PMStart your day with coffee, breakfast, and friendly conversation with other newcomers and longtime members.
Newcomers Meeting
10:30 AM - 11:30 AMA special meeting designed for newcomers to ask questions and share their experience in a comfortable setting.
Newcomer Buddy System
All DayGet paired with an experienced member who can help guide you through the day and answer any questions.
One Year Recognition Ceremony
5:00 PM - 6:00 PMCelebrate milestone achievements and witness the inspiration of those celebrating one year of sobriety.
Newcomer FAQ
What is Founders Day?
Founders Day is an annual celebration honoring the founding of AA and Al-Anon, featuring speakers, fellowship, and recovery-focused activities.
Is this event only for AA members?
No! We welcome AA members, Al-Anon members, and anyone interested in learning about recovery and the 12-step program.
What should I bring?
Just bring yourself! We'll provide materials, but you might want to bring a notebook, comfortable shoes, and an open mind.
Will there be food?
Yes! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included with registration, plus coffee and snacks throughout the day.
Can I attend if I'm newly sober?
Absolutely! Founders Day is especially welcoming to newcomers. No matter how much time you have, you belong here.
Is there a dress code?
Casual and comfortable clothing is perfect. Some people dress up for the banquet, but it's not required.
